Biography
Known for leading with a student-centered focus, Dr. Anthony Leigh became the 15th President of Huntingdon College on July 1, 2024. The Sheffield, Alabama, native has been an administrator at Huntingdon since 2009, and prior to his appointment as President he served as Huntingdon’s Senior Vice President and Dean of Students.
Dr. Leigh is a cum laude graduate of Wofford College in South Carolina where he earned a degree in government and served as President of the student body. He completed a master’s degree in philanthropy and development at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and received a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Georgia.
Raised in a home by a devout Catholic mother and an active Methodist father, Dr. Leigh has a unique respect for people of all faith traditions. He is a member of Montgomery First United Methodist Church and attends Frazer Church. He is the Chairman of the Committee on the Episcopacy of the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Dr. Leigh also serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Baptist Medical Center East. He is married to Wendy Leigh, a retired educator, and they have a daughter, Carey Mae.
